On March 17, 2026, the US federal government registered the domain name aliens.gov. The information, spotted through the public WHOIS registry, was shared by @remarks on X and amplified by Jesse Michels (@AlchemyAmerican) — over 130,000 views within an hour.

The domain is hosted on Cloudflare, one of the world's largest web infrastructure providers (government agencies, humanitarian organizations, Apple, Walmart, Canva, etc.) and expires in March 2027. An infrastructure choice that suggests an upcoming launch rather than a mere reservation. No page is currently live.
As a reminder, only US federal agencies can register a .gov domain.
From 1997 to 2021, .gov domains were managed by the GSA (General Services Administration), the federal agency responsible for general services of the US government: management of federal buildings and real estate, public procurement and contracts, among others. In 2021, thanks to the DOTGOV Act, the management of the entire .gov TLD was transferred to the CISA (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency), in order to strengthen the cybersecurity of government websites. The GSA is no longer involved in the registration of .gov domains.
The registration of aliens.gov is believed to be an operation led directly by the White House through the CISA, which would support the "soft" declassification announced by President Trump in early 2026. It is possible that we will find an official disclosure or public communication portal on the subject — perhaps fed or managed by the AARO (All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office)?
